Believe it or not, Christmas is less than two weeks away. (Breathe. Don’t freak out.) Are you still trying to think of thoughtful gift ideas?
The easiest way to give meaningful gifts is to make charitable donations. At this time of year, most organizations are offering unique ways to make this possible for shoppers.
- You can buy goats or ducks or pigs or fruit trees for needy families around the world. World Vision, Compassion International, World Help and Heifer International are excellent organizations to check out.
- Help make a child’s Christmas in America brighter by giving through Toys for Tots or Angel Tree.
- Feed the hungry by making a donation to your community’s food bank, homeless shelter or Salvation Army.
What are your favorite charitable organizations to give to? What creative ways do you use to “give” these thoughtful gifts to your friends and family at Christmas time?
Shopping for moms-to-be
Don’t forget that my eBook, First Bites, would make an excellent gift for any new mom or momma-to-be. Currently, it’s available as a PDF, Kindle version, and ePub version. Here are a few important things to remember about giving First Bites:
If you’re planning to give First Bites to someone who owns a Kindle, you can give it as a gift through Amazon
. Simply click on the yellow “Give as a Gift” button on the upper right side of the screen.
- Through the end of 2012, $4.50 will be donated to World Vision for each copy of First Bites that is sold. (So thankful for generous grants and matching gift programs that make this possible!)
- You can access your own free First Bites gifts at www.firstbitesbook.com. The gifts are two printables – a homemade baby food recipe from the book and a timeline specifying when new foods can be introduced to babies. Enjoy!Photo credit
