As a lover of most things barbecued, my husband really enjoys grilling out. He has a fall-off-the-bone rib recipe, but it takes hours of work. No doubt the finished product is tasty – but it’s a little too labor-intensive for me for a few pieces of meat.
So when we get a hankering for ribs and don’t have hours to grill, I prepare them this way. They do take a long time to cook, but the recipe is super simple. And since it’s done in my kitchen, I have more time to prepare sides, clean up around the house, or watch my kiddos without needing to camp out by the grill.
Granted, the ribs aren’t grilled. But they’re oh-so-tender and taste great, especially when paired with our homemade BBQ sauce.

Fall-Off-the-Bone Pork Ribs
Ingredients
2 pounds pork ribs
1 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup BBQ sauce
Directions
Put 2 pounds of pork ribs in a large pot. Cover with cool water. Season the water with 1 Tablespoon garlic powder, 1 Tablespoon salt, and 1 teaspoon ground black pepper. Bring water to a boil and cook ribs for 45 minutes.
Remove ribs from the pot with tongs. Place in a 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish. Pour 1 cup of BBQ sauce over the ribs. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour. Top with more BBQ sauce before serving.
