Looking for a way to spend a snowy day? Children of all ages will love making a simple bird feeder using just pine cones, wire (or string), peanut butter, and bird seed.
Simply tie a piece of wire or string around the top of a pine cone. Coat the pine cone in peanut butter, then roll it in bird seed. Hang it on a tree or bush that’s close to your window, and enjoy the view of some hungry new feathered friends.
(I tried this project with Big Brother and Little Sister and they could easily do all of the steps. Afterwards, they LOVED watching birds eat from something they made all by themselves.)
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
– Matthew 6: 25-27
