If you read yesterday’s post, I Avoid Triclosan. Do You? you may already be guessing what this week’s Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Challenge is.
This week’s Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to check all your personal care products for Triclosan. Be sure to check your:
- Toothpaste,
- Face wash,
- Body soap,
- Liquid hand soap,
- Deodorant,
- Shaving gel,
- Mouthwash,
- “Antibacterial” cosmetics.
If you have more time and are on an anti-triclosan mission, try to remember if you’ve bought any of the following “antibacterial” products that include Triclosan, like:
- Socks,
- Shoes,
- Workout clothes,
- Cutting boards,
- Mouse pads,
- Yoga mats.
Unfortunately for this challenge, there’s no reusing the Triclosan products. Please dispose of them, but don’t dump liquid products down the drain. Triclosan affects the water supply.
Talk back
Once you’ve completed the challenge, please comment below or share your experience on Facebook. Did many of your products contain triclosan? What products are you changing to?
