If you buy eggs to eat, chances are you have egg cartons to dispose of – or reuse. Wondering how you can reuse egg cartons? Here are 6 different ways:
1. Chicken Farmers
If you know someone who owns chickens, pass along your egg cartons – they’ll appreciate your recycling efforts.
2. Crafts
If you’re looking for something creative to make – either for your artistic outlet or your kiddos’ – check out my Pinterest ideas for egg carton art. Both cardboard and Styrofoam egg cartons can be reused for crafts.
3. Disposable Paint Holder
Sometimes, when I’m ready to get my kids painting, I just want to get everything started – and so I’ll grab any container for paint. Instead of getting paint all over my glass bowls, it would be much handier to use egg cartons instead. By using egg cartons for paint holders, you can squeeze the perfect amount of paint inside. Once finished, you can either choose to dispose of the container or let the paint dry and reuse it.
4. Poor Man’s Peat Pot
As long as you have cardboard egg cartons, use them as containers to start seeds. Once the seedlings are ready to transplant into your garden, snip away your poor man’s peat pot.
5. Christmas Ornament Holder
As a compact way to safely store delicate Christmas ornaments, use egg cartons!
6. Learning Tools
Use egg cartons to help your children learn. You can practice math facts by writing one in each cup. Toss a ping pong in the carton. Your child can see where the ball lands – and solve the corresponding problem.
